Frequently Asked Questions

What do you do?
We take young Christian leaders and help them develop into the person and leader God has called them to be. Every day begins with a dynamic time of prayer. Our students are involved in many hands-on ministires at the church and in the community working with a wide range of people. We travel a lot, visiting churches and youth groups. Because we believe that well-rounded discipleship includes grotwth in knowledge, we have an academic aspect as well. Everything is intentionally designed for the advancement of Christ's kingdom and our student's growth. For more information on the specific ministries and academics, see those tabs here on our site.

Is SMC full time or can I have a job on the side?
Our schedule is quite instense, and, therefore, the students are considered full time. We ask for a high degree of focus during your time with us and we travel as well, therefore an outside job will not be a possiblity.

How will SMC benefit my future?
SMC can benefit anyone going into any field of career or ministry. It is taking a year of your life and devoting it to God as a "first fruits" offering during which God often reveals purpose and direction. Through SMC our students are able to lay a solid foundation of faith and develop their leadership for the rest of their lives.

What could I do afterwards?
You could take what you learn in SMC and apply it wherever you go. SMC alumni have gone into many different fields such as ministry, foreign missons, the medical field, business management, counseling, media industry, and music--to name a few.
