PROGRAM STRATEGIES

1st Year Program:  Discipleship and Ministry Training
“You got the heart kid, you just ain’t got the tools” – Mickey (played by Burgess Meredith), Rocky 1976

Most young people want to make the most of their lives.  Most desire to make a true impact on the world, and yet so few have that same determination and goal three years after graduation.  Why?  We believe it’s because they don’t have the tools to make their dreams become reality.  In your first year at SMC, you’ll get more than inspiration and motivation; you’ll get practical tools.  It’s one thing to want to live for God; it’s quite another thing to know how.  Every first year grad will not only have the heart, but also the tools to live out God’s purpose for their life.

2nd Year Program:  Leadership Development
“You want the truth… you can’t handle the truth.” – Col. Nathan R. Jessup (played by Jack Nicholson), A Few Good Men 1992

The truth is that God has called each of us to leadership.  As Christians, we have a mandate to lead the world around us.  Whether that is in business, ministry, or any field, we have a responsibility to influence those God has put in our lives.  Unfortunately, most people have a hard time accepting that role.  Our second year program is engineered for intense development in key areas such as management, communication, and influence.  Second year graduates not only accept the truth about their role in leadership, they embrace it with every resource they have.

Academics:  Scholastic Discipleship
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”  2 Timothy 2:15

Combining heart knowledge with head knowledge, we seek to provide a balanced learning experience.  With Scripture memorization, book reports, and a great curriculum in INSTE, the Institute of Theology by Extension; students will receive a well balanced academic strategy that will transfer to various Bible Colleges.  Students will also be equipped with a Christian worldview and receive training in other practical life areas.
